A written request by the six industry bodies described the food poisoning incidents as isolated cases restricted to a restaurant chain and called for the rules to be eased to allow restaurants and meatpackers to provide raw beef in a sanitary manner even without the special equipment.
The food bodies also expressed their opposition to a ban on raw liver, now being considered by the ministry.
