While students don’t expect their institutions to take drastic measures (“Hostel food is hostel food for a reason,” says Aneeth) they do ask that a few standard procedures be implemented. Says Divya Aiyer, a media student, “I think food handlers should be made to wear gloves and all food products should be carefully checked for their expiry date. Serving fresh fruits and vegetables would also greatly benefit students.”
