On the eve of its turn at the negotiating table with Qantas, the TWU asked the chief medical officer to issue a public-health alert because the airline failed to tell passengers of safety breaches made by the "contingency" workforce on September 20.
The union says Qantas managers exposed passengers to risk of contracting hepatitis A in Sydney when they carried out toilet and potable-water services.
