Dr. John Prpich confirms RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus, is indeed on the rise. And these can become dangerous according to Prpich.
"If you see them breathing fast or they seem to be working to breathe, you can see the skin going in around the ribs -- we call that retractions. If they're hearing audible wheezing or the child seems to be breathing very fast the would all be things to make them want to bring them to pediatrician or the ER."
