He said that if not careful, people especially children could get acute gastroenteritis due to bacterial infection from unsafe and unclean refreshments sold in the streets, from virus and possible fecal bacteria in contaminated swimming pools and from spoiled and not properly prepared packed foods during picnics.

To prevent this, he said parents should ensure that their children should always have clean bottled water and clean packed food with them to avoid buying from vendors and to watch out for swimming pools packed with people, unclean pool waters, or not chlorinated pools.
