Norovirus and Vietnamese clams

Norovirus is the culprit once again for vietnamese clams contamination. This new RASFF alert is the fourthieth one for those asiatic clams.

Norovirus and Spain

Spain has registered no less than 8 alerts for foodborne viruses in the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed since the beginning of 2014.

Norovirus responsible for most foodborne virus alerts

91% of all RASFF foodborne virus alerts are due to Norovirus, whilst hepatitis A Virus accounts for 9% end of April 2014.

Foodborne viruses and impacted countries

With the globalisation, the RASFF identified foodborne virus contaminated products have been shipped to several countries worldwide, potentially impacting Cuba, Czech Rep., Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
