Large norovirus outbreak in Germany in 2012This regulation followed the massive outbreak that occurred in Germany in 2012 (http://ceeram.blogspot.fr/2012/10/chinese-frozen-strawberries-source-of_6.html), during which more than 11000 children were found sick after consumption of norovirus contaminated strawberries originating from China.
Four border rejections since european norovirus regulationEurope is now systematically controling strawberries from China based upon the set norovirus regulation (1235-2012), and 1 alert and 3 border rejections have been registered through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed. Denmark, Netherlands and Latvia were the three countries having tested for positive norovirus contaminated strawberries.
