Founded in 2005, by M. Benoît Lebeau and Ms Fabienne Loisy, ceeram first started its operation harbored within IFREMER Headquarters.
Research & Development in Molecular Biology
From 2005 to 2009, strong efforts were put into R&D to develop methods to easily detect and identify, from Food and Environmental matrices, viruses, parasites and bacteria.
The first standardized kits
This R&D work led to the launch late 2009 of a range of standardized, all-in-one, ready-to-use kits under the brand name ceeramTools®.
They allowed for the detection and identification of Food- and waterborne viruses, such as Norovirus, hepatitis A Virus, Hepatitis E Virus.
ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 Certificationsceeram gained its first ISO certificates in 2012 enabling the production of In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) CE marked clinical ceeramTools® kits under strict quality level.
Food Safety Innovation Award @IAFP2013ceeram was the recipient of the Food Safety Innovation Award at the 2013 IAFP Event
bioMérieux acquires ceeram
In 2015, bioMérieux acquires ceeram. This acquisition expands bioMérieux food testing solutions portfolio which already includes easyMAG® and miniMAG® DNA/RNA extraction platforms.
