The most common symptoms of norovirus, sometimes called the “cruise ship” flu, are diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain. It is spread from person to person through touching contaminated surfaces or through contaminated food or water, Davidson said. The sickness can last for up to 48 hours, she said.
