The new reporting line will also have an option to report infectious diseases. The Utah Communicable Disease Rule (Utah Administrative Code R386-702) requires reporting of certain, specific diseases to the appropriate local health department. While this responsibility lies with doctors and hospitals, SLVHD always appreciates help from the public in identifying certain illnesses or situations, such as meningitis, pertussis (whooping cough), or any foodborne illness like salmonellosis or norovirus.
