Ceeram has recently introduced two new ceeramTools™ TEST PACKS for determining the origin of a fecal contamination - Bacteriophages and bacteroides - in water samples . The ceeramTools™ RT-PCR Test kit (provides 24 tests per kit) comes complete with: Mastermix Primers and Probes IPC (bacteroides) Neg and Pos Controls

Specificity, sensitivity and robustness characterise the ceeramTools™ Microbial Source Tracking Test Kits. Bacteriophages KMST1 kit allows for the determination of a human and/or an animal contamination origin. Bacteroides KMST2 kit allows for the determination of a human, porcine and/or ruminant fecal contamination origin.

In Europe, the revised Bathing Water European Directive (2006/7/EC) has recently introduced more stringent microbial concentration limits, as well as the need to establish bathing water profiles where animal or human fecal contamination origin must be determined.
